Kitty Litter Cake
1 package white cake mix 1 package white sandwich cookies 1 package vanilla pudding mix green food coloring 12 small Toosie rolls 1 brand new, unused kitty litter box 1 brand new, unused pooper scooper
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions. Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork. When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding; gently combine. Line new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture into litter box. Put three unwrapper Toostie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixutre. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Serve with a new pooper scooper. Reviews of Kitty Litter Cake : 4-9 of 9 reviews << Previous Would make this again. I made this cake for a Halloween contest at work. I took first place. I am currently making it again. Would make this again. I had made this cake the last couple of years for both older childrens' parties and to take to work. I'd lost the recipe and couldn't remember what type of cake to use. It's a major hit everywhere - especially since I have 10 cats and...well, you get the idea! Would make this again. This is the best halloween recipe. My brother took it to work, the staff was grossed out but it was the first dish gone!!! The tootsie rolls were left at the bottom of the pan! Would make this again. I love the cake! I was deelishous! Would make this again. i really enjoyed the cake. i was at my cousins birthday party and i was like umm when did you get a cat! when i dared to eat it, i thought it was going to taste horrible but it tasted great! when i found out that i was eating fake kitty litter i was so relieved! i never ate a tootsie roll though! Would make this again. I made this cake to take to a family evening, where we were also watching the new Garfield movie, just out on CD. Not only was the cake a big hit with the children, all the adults enjoyed it as well. It was especially fun to watch someone chewing away on the "tootsie rolls". I'd definitely make this cake again. e
