We’re back, and we’re better than ever! You can still view our old site through an Internet archive, but let’s talk about what we’re doing now!
First things first, we’ve updated our recipe lists to deal with a more extensive list of holidays that you just gotta have good food for!
This includes Kosher food for Hanukkah and vegetarian options for all the seasons. The United States is a diverse place to live, so we’ve decided to reflect that on our new website. The winter holidays are as varied as they come, so we’re including recipes for not just Christmas and Hanukkah but also for Kwanzaa.
Get ready to spice things up this spring as you try the delectable smorgasbord of recipes we’ve prepared for your Mardi Gras parties!
We’re going back to doing our popular book reviews, which you can still see on our site through that archive we mentioned at the top of this post:
We haven’t gotten started on those yet, but just you wait! There are so many good cookbooks out there that we’re super-excited to check out some of them and let you know what we think. You can send us recommendations or requests in the comment section at the bottom of the page.
While you’re at it, if you want to suggest some holidays we’ve missed, you can mention them in the comments as well.
We also hope to expand our site to including categories for kid-friendly foods—or just the picky people in your lives.
Allergies can come up at the worst times in people’s lives, and it can be difficult to adjust. Something we hope to add soon is a recipe category that attends to allergens and how to substitute them out of your favorite recipes.
One of everyone’s favorite features of our old site was that we listed what was in season, and clicking on the ingredient takes you to recipes that include that ingredient. That feature is back and ready for you to find the best of the best.
Now that all of that is settled, we look forward to seeing what parts of the new site you love the most and what could use some improvements. We’re all very excited about our new site, and we hope that you are too!
And now it’s your turn: what’s your favorite holiday, and what food do you look forward to the most when that holiday rolls around?
